 Part 10 Rude Owner

Khushi thought about Arnav's self-restored girl statement. Why did he say so? What did he know about her? She was sure Payal would not have said anything about her. Then, why he said so? Was it because she was a single mother?

Arnav looked at Khushi and asked,

“What's your program today, Khushi?”

“After completing Aashi’s admission to the school, I will attend your mother’s regular treatment. After that, I will go to my home “

Aashi looked at Khushi lifting her head and asked,

“Mom, should we go to our house?” Aashi pouted.

Khushi looked at Arnav awkwardly and then smiled at Aashi.

"It's our house Aashi we have to be there"

Arnav noticed Aashi's face hung.

“Can't we be with Mr. Puzzle?”

Before Khushi said anything,

“Beta, if you don't want to go to your house, you can be with Dadi,” Arnav said

“No Arnav...”

Cutting her,

"Khushi listen, I'm not saying you shouldn't go there. I'm just saying, don't embarrass her."

Khushi was silent. She didn't want to argue with Arnav in front of Aashi on this matter.

That was when Arnav got a call from Karan. Before he talked about anything,

" Karan, cancel all my today’s program.”

“Cancel? But why ASR?”

“I have important work today” Arnav said concentrating on the road.

Khushi looked at him jerking. Did he cancel his program for her? She did not know whether she could ask him or not.

“Karan, check if any house is vacant in your, and my area”

“House? For whom?”

“My friend needs a house. Budget is not a matter but the locality does.”

“Ok, then, I will find a house”

“Yup…” Arnav disconnected the call.

Khushi looked at him embarrassingly.

“I am sorry. I am troubling you...”

Cutting her again,

“Do you know what real trouble is?”

Khushi looked at him without answering

“Letting you stay in a place that is not safe. This trouble is better than that.”

Khushi smiled mildly. Akash was right Arnav is a gem of a person.

“Did you change your schedule for me?”

“I don’t want to answer this question because you will again start your TROUBLE lecture”

“Are you always like this?” Khushi asked.

“What do you mean? Do you mean are you always like this with WOMEN?” Arnav asked teasingly.

Khushi smiled nodding no.

“Do you think I would help only women?”

“No… You would have had important work…”

“Khushi, there are some things… that should be given more important than anything… one among them is, respect of a woman. It’s more important than anything.”

“I can save my self-respect, Arnav”

Arnav looked at her and said,

“Please spare me”

Khushi sulked as she didn’t know what he wanted her to spare. As she didn’t expect, Arnav clutched her hand. Khushi looked at him shockingly.

“Remove your hand from my clutch” Arnav said while driving the car in his right hand.

Khushi twisted her hand from left to right. Yet, she could not take her hand from his clutch even though Arnav’s clutch was not so strong. Khushi used another hand to remove his grip but she could not. Arnav freed her hand, looking at her seriously.

“You could not even take your hand from my clutch. Don’t think I’m lowering your confidence… I just am making you understand. You know what, I didn’t apply my full strength.”

Khushi looked outside not saying anything because she knew he didn’t apply his full strength.

“Try to understand Khushi”

Khushi looked at him and asked,

“What do you want me to do?”

“Shift the house… I will get the advance amount from the owner. Ok?”

She nodded ok. Arnav smiled.

“Give me two days. I will find a house”

“Thanks”

“Welcome”

Arnav stopped the car in front of the school. They walked in and conveyed the message in the reception. They were asked to wait to get the principal’s permission.

After a few minutes, they were called. Arnav also went with them. That was least expected for Khushi.

When they entered the principal’s room, he smiled brightly to see Arnav.

“Hello, sir… you here?”

Arnav didn’t know who he was.

“I’m sorry. I can’t remember you”

“Of course, you can’t because you don’t know me but I know you”

“Oh…”

“My wife is working in AR…”

“I see…”

“Rekha… assistant finance head”

“Oh… glad to meet you sir”

“I’m so glad to meet you, ASR. Take your seat”

Arnav sat in front of him with Khushi.

“He is a gem of a person madam. Only because of him, I’m letting my wife do the job. She never came home late. She would enter our house at 6:30 sharp. Do you know why?”

Khushi nodded no.

“It’s ASR’s strict order that ladies should not be at the office after six”

Khushi looked at Arnav raising her brows respectfully.

“He is so cautious about Ladies’ safety”

Khushi smiled.

“By the way, my wife said, you are SINGLE…” he asked hesitatingly.

“Of course, I am. She is my BEST friend from London. She has no one here. So, I accompanied you”

“That’s so nice of you, sir”

“Please fill out the application” the principal extended a form to Khushi.

Taking it from him, Khushi filled it.

Aashi got admission so easily without an interview. Pointing at Aashi, Arnav said,

“She is my BESTEST friend. Please take care of her, sir”

“Sure, ASR. She will be safe here”

“Thank you, sir”

They came out of the principal’s room. Khushi smiled at Arnav.

“What?” He asked with a lopsided smile.

“It seems you have a hero image in your office…!”

“I don’t know that…” he smiled.

“I’m glad to have your friendship”

“Me too…”

They came to RM. Khushi treated Ratna as usual.

“Mom, we are going to meet Khushi’s house owner” Arnav said.

“Any problem?” Ratna asked.

“Mmm… we will talk later,” Arnav said.

“Ok… take her with you and solve the problem”

Arnav took Khushi to her house. Lokesh Ram saw Khushi coming with a man. Khushi saw him looking at them.

“He is the one,” she said.

“You just stay here”

“Mmm…”

Arnav got out of the car and headed to Lokesh Ram. He looked at Arnav tip to toe.

“I’m Khushi’s friend. She decided to shift the house. She has not signed the contract yet. So, there will not be any problem for you to return the money”

“Sir, it’s her who dealt with me. who are you in between us?”

“I said I’m her friend”

“How do I know sir… ask her to talk to me,” he said rudely.

Arnav didn’t feel it good. He looked behind and beckoned at her. Khushi came to Arnav.

“Tell him you want to shift the house,” He said.

“Yes, I want to shift the house”

“Why madam?”

“I don’t like it,” She said looking at his face straight.

“What don’t you like Madam?”

“She doesn’t like this locality” Arnav said.

“Yeah… how would she like this locality… she would have SEEN high-class locality” he said looking at Arnav tip to toe.

“Mr. You are talking unwantedly… return the advance amount. Or else…”

“Or else? What will you do? She agreed to be here for eleven months…”

“But, she has not signed the contract yet”

“But, I did…” Lokesh Ram said.

“See, I thought this place would be good for me but my daughter doesn’t like this place”

“What a child knows, madam?”

“It’s none of your business…” Arnav said.

“I can’t return the money. I already spent it. I need three months. I wrote in the agreement that if you want to vacate the house before the tenure, you should inform me within three months. How can I give one lakh immediately? I’m a middle-class man… not like you”

“Ok… we will shift the house. You can take three months but if you get a new tenant, get the money and return it to us”

“Mmm… I will think about it”

Arnav glared at Lokesh Ram and gestured for Khushi to move away.

“Didn’t you meet this man before? He doesn’t seem a good guy”

“He spoke to me so nicely when I came for the first time”

“Don’t think of staying at this place…he is too rude...”

Khushi sighed.

“Where are you going now?”

“I have to go to the hospital,” Khushi said.

“What about Aashi?”

“She will be with me”

“You could have dropped her in RM. Mom would have taken care of her”

“It’s ok, Arnav. She will start going to school from tomorrow onwards. Then, there will not be any problem”

Arnav sighed. He knew Khushi would not take other’s help. He started the car towards the hospital to drop Khushi.
