 Part 29 Intentionally…

Arnav so wanted to say who he was but he could not.

“Who the hell are you, man? Why are you ogling at me?” Khushi asked gritting her teeth.

Arnav stood folding his hands with a smirk. Khushi dropped her jaw seeing his attitude.

“How dare you! Shame on you for ogling at someone’s girlfriend”

That was when they heard,

“Oh, Madam, don’t get angry”

Arnav saw NK rushing towards them.

“I’m apologising on his behalf…” NK said.

“Who are you CARTOON?” Khushi asked.

NK was shocked, whereas Arnav controlled his laughter.

“Cartoon?”

“Then what? Didn’t you look at yourself in the mirror?”

NK looked at Arnav who bit his inner lip smiling. Arnav gestured for him to handle Khushi. NK rolled his eyes.

“What happened, madam? Why are you scolding my friend?” NK asked.

“He is ogling at me… staring at me as if he will swallow me anytime…” Khushi said looking at Arnav.

“Nannav, did you do what she said?”

Arnav nodded yes. Khushi again dropped her jaw.

“How dare he…!”

“Madam, he is the next door to Harichandra. He speaks only the truth. He won’t lie at all”

(Harichandra was an Indian king who was known for his truthfulness)

“Oh… will the pearls in his mouth spill if he talks? Are you a Dubbing artist for him or what? Won't he talk?”

“His throat infected, Madam…! Poor him. A big pipe fell on his throat when he was working in a chemical plant,” NK said the same story told by fake Arnav.

Khushi was stuck for a while. She composed herself and said.

“If I call MY ARNAV, he will kill you for fussing me. My Arnav won’t quiet if anyone eye on me. He will not let anyone harm me”

“Is it? Where is your ARNAV, madam?” NK asked seriously.

Khushi looked at Vinesh who was attending the call.

“Arnav…” Khushi called Vinesh. He was talking on the phone without turning behind.

“Madam, I think he is not ARNAV… he doesn’t even look at you,” NK said teasingly.

“Vinesh…” Khushi shouted.

Vinesh looked at her jerking. He smiled as she called him Vinesh for the first time. His smile vanished to see her standing with someone. Disconnecting the call, he came to them.

“Vinesh? You said someone called Arnav will kill us? Is not he Arnav?”

“Shut up… he has two names,” Khushi said.

“Ohhh… but Arnav doesn’t suit him. Am I right Nannav?”

Arnav looked at Vinesh sharply.

“What’s happening, Khushi?” Vinesh asked.

“Arnav, see, these guys are fussing me”

“Who are you guys? I will call the police”

“Police? She said you would kill us for making her fuss… why madam, doesn’t he have the guts to deal with us?”

“Arnav, why are you waiting? Hit them…” Khushi said.

“Khushi, it seems they are bad guys. Let’s go…” Vinesh said.

“Whaaaat? Won’t you hit those who ogle at me?”

“Khushi, anyone with eyes will ogle. We should not take it seriously. Let’s go…”

“Arnav, do you know how proudly I talk to them about you? What will they think of me?” She tried to touch him intentionally.

Vinesh jumped back as if she was trying to kill him. Khushi looked at Vinesh and then at her hand which was still in the air. She showed confusion on her face which alerted Vinesh.

“Let’s go, Khushi. We will talk later” he said embarrassingly, understanding the reason.

“It seems, he is a Saint Vishvamithra… he doesn’t even let his girlfriend touch her… what a great love!” NK said laughingly.

“Hey, what do you know about MY ARNAV? he is not like other men who expect a CHANCE… mind it” Khushi glared at NK.

“Madam, don’t look at me like that, poor me, may burn” NK countered.

“Look, I will break your teeth if you make fun of me” Khushi moved towards NK angrily and raised her hand.

NK clutched her hands.

“Madam, cool down… I’m not worth your anger” he laughed.

“Khushi, what are you doing? Leave his hands” Vinesh said without touching her.

“Arrey, what kind of boyfriend you are? Pull her back…” NK said.

Vinesh stood not knowing what to do.

“Hello, brother, didn’t you hear what I said? Your girlfriend is fighting with me…” NK shouted.

“He won’t do anything because he knows I’m not wrong,” Khushi said.

She looked at Arnav whose constant gaze was on her.  

“You, idiot, look at your friend… you are getting beaten up here but he is behaving like, he is no one to you…” Khushi told NK, looking at Arnav.

“You don’t know about him, madam. He will receive your slaps happily… if you have doubt, you can hit him” NK said.

“Oh, really?” Khushi pushed NK and came to Arnav.

She raised her hand. Arnav showed his cheek which made her stuck. Arnav raised his brows and nodded his head like, go ahead. Khushi lowered her hand, gritting her teeth.

“This is not fair… you were so keen to hit me. He is showing his cheek but you are not ready to hit him…” NK felt bad.

“If he crosses my path again, he will definitely get beaten up” Khushi warned.

“Madam, you better hit him asap because he will surely cross your path,” NK said.

“Whaaaat? What do you mean?”

“We are in the same city. However, we will have to cross one another’s path. That’s what I’m saying”

“If it happens, I can’t assure your safety” she intentionally extended the conversation meaninglessly. Her heart didn’t want to get apart from Arnav.

“Safety? Nannav, I’m really scared of this girl. Poor her HUSBAND… don’t know how he will handle her for her whole life…” NK said with sadness.

Arnav suppressed his lips to suppress his laughter.

“You don’t have to bother about my husband… he will take care of it”

“But, I don’t think HE is serious about it…” NK laughed, looking at Arnav.

Khushi looked at Vinesh who was standing like a statue and could do nothing.

“Khushi, why are you fighting with these guys… let’s go. I don’t like this”

Khushi saw Arnav smiling. She thought something and said,

“Oh, yeah, you are a multimillionaire after all… I’m yours going to be wife. I should not behave like this. I’m sorry ARNAV…”

Vinesh nodded gently. Khushi saw Arnav’s facial expression changing. She smirked inwardly.

“MY DEAR ARNAV, we have not drank coffee yet. Let’s go…” Khushi said cheesy.

NK read Arnav’s face where anger seethed.

“You know why I wanted to meet you today?” She asked Vinesh.

Vinesh nodded no.

“I wanted to tell you how curious I am to marry you…”

Vinesh smiled brightly.

“Of course, you would have known my interest. If you don’t know about it, who would know? After all, you are MY ARNAV…”

Vinesh smiled awkwardly. He didn’t know whether he should be happy about Khushi’s interest in their wedding or, feeling sad about her interest in marrying ARNAV.

“Let’s go… I want to talk to you about our wedding”

Khushi walked to a table. Vinesh followed her. Of course, Arnav took a seat at the next table. Khushi made sure he could hear her.

“I changed my mind,” Khushi said.

“For what?” Vinesh asked and Arnav became curious to know why she changed her mind.

“I wanted to invite all my friends to MY marriage but after listening to my Amma, I changed my mind. I’m not going to invite anyone to the marriage…”

Vinesh’s face brightened, whereas Arnav’s face paled.

“Do you know why?”

Vinesh nodded no.

“Amma told me, people would get jealous of me for getting a multimillionaire as my partner. Their bad eyes will affect my happy life. That’s why I changed my mind. I don’t want any bad eye to hit our happiness. We are going to get together after a struggle… you met with an accident… Lost your VOICE… I don’t want anything to happen again” She said sadly.

Arnav looked at her rigidly. He thought Khushi would invite her friends to her wedding and call them. Payal would be on the list if she had the idea. Then, Khushi would have gotten to know the truth. But, now, she had no idea of inviting them. It disappointed Arnav.

“You have decided right, Khushi. I’m happy that you started accepting the reality” Vinesh said.

Khushi nodded yes, looking at Arnav from the corner of her eyes. She laughed inwardly seeing him tightening his jaws. He was angry… and she wanted the same…!
