 Part 12 Upset Khushi

“Just follow my instructions. You will easily tackle him”

“How?”

“Stop meeting me”

“Whaaaat?”

“Yeah, from here on, we are not going to meet…”

“Have you gone mad? We met after seven years and you want me to be aloof from you just because a psychopath…”

“He is a psychopath…that’s why I want you to be aloof from me”

“I can’t…”

“Just until he gets caught, Khushi”

“When will you catch him? He seems a marvellous planner. He killed more than eight girls silently. The police could not even get a single clue about him…”

“We just did…”

“Because of you…”

“I’m still in… Don’t you believe me?

She rolled her eyes.

“Do you think I will not be firm in my decision of marrying you?”

“Not at all… But, I don’t like to be hidden…!”

“Khushi, understand the seriousness. He is a psycho. He will do anything. there is nothing called ethics for him and when it comes to me, he won’t mind destroying. Don’t you see what happened to those girls? Give me a few days. I will definitely trap him… he can’t escape this

time”

Khushi swallowed hard. She sat on a big stone under the tree, holding her head. Arnav kneeled before her, not caring about his Ted Baker trousers.

“Khushi, listen to me. it will be hell for me too. Do you think I will happily stay away from you? We have no choice, Khushi. I don’t care if it is about me but, it’s about me, Khushi. how could I be careless? If he smells you are my girl, he will not be quiet”

He clutched her hand tenderly.

“I can’t tolerate it if anything happens to you, Khushi. I had been in a strange country only because I didn’t want you to get into trouble.”

“Won’t you protect me?”

“That’s what I’m doing now. I don’t want to take a risk in your matter… you are my life, my future, my happiness…”

Khushi read his eyes.

“I can’t believe the psycho killer has your face”

Arnav smiled.

“I can’t believe someone can do such horrible things with the face that I admired day and night” Khushi gulped down.

“Don’t think much… until Arnav is alive, Aarav can’t touch you”

“Don’t we have a choice other than staying away?” She asked.

“For a few days, we don’t have a choice”

“That means, will you postpone our wedding?”

“I don’t even want to talk about our wedding”

“Why?”

“If it leaks, it will bring us trouble”

“Do you think he doesn’t know you are in India?”

“I think no… if he had known, he would not have been quiet. He would have nagged me by now”

“Can’t we meet with the excuse of working together?”

Arnav nodded no. Khushi felt bad.

“Go home. I will call you later”

She sighed.

“Be patient…”

Khushi started her bike.

“Bye…”

Arnav nodded. Khushi left the place. Arnav stood, looking at her fading figure. He knew Khushi was upset. He had no choice. He didn’t want to show his confidence in Khushi’s matter but wanted to be clever.

He came to Aman who sent the dead body to the autopsy.

“Where is Khushi?”

“I sent her”

“But why?”

“I want to talk to you… let’s go”

“Anything serious?”

Arnav nodded.

“Shall we go home?”

“Don’t you want to get the autopsy report?”

“Yeah… I have to…”

“Then, let’s go to the mortuary. We will talk there”

“Are you sure?”

“Mmm” Taking his handkerchief, Arnav tied it on his

face like a mask.

Aman thought he didn’t want to be infected as he was affected by food poison.

Aman came to the mortuary with Arnav.

“Tell me ASR”

“The serial killer is my twin brother”

“Whaaaat?”

“Mmm…”

Arnav narrated to him about Aarav.

“I can’t believe this. Do you have a brother?”

Arnav nodded.

“What are you going to do now, ASR?”

“We will have to find him. Publish his photos everywhere and tight the security”

“But, we don’t have his photo…”

Arnav rolled his eyes and asked,

“Won’t you use your brain? I said he is my twin”

“If we publish your photo, people will see you doubtfully. How will you be peaceful after that?”

“I will manage”

“But how?”

“Get me a fake beard and moustache”

“Are you going to be in disguise?”

Arnav nodded yes.

“Is not it necessary?”

“Yes, it seems, your twin is a perilous man”

“I’m going to be in disguise to avoid confusion. At the

same time, I don’t want Aarav to know I’m in India”

“Mmm…ok, I will arrange a fake beard and moustache for you”

“Go and collect all his previous case files”

“But, ASR, you missed something”

“What?”

“Won’t he get suspect if we publish his photo? How would we get his photo without someone’s guidance?”

“Let him suspect. Then only he will try to find the reason, fasten his action, and make mistakes…”

“Be careful ASR…”

“I have been… from so long…”

“Shall we start investigations?”

“Immediately”

That was when the doctor came out of the mortuary. Arnav and Aman got alert.

“Have you done, doctor?”

The doctor nodded yes.

“What’s the report, doctor?”

“The girl must be raped for four to five times continuously. There is an inner bleeding in her body. We found three sperm samples in her body”

“Three samples?”

“Yes…”

Arnav and Aman spared a glance.

“It happened just yesterday… maybe within a few hour gaps”

Arnav gulped down. Aman knew his mind was analysing the issue.

The doctor handed the report and left.

“What are you thinking, ASR?”

“Didn’t I say, Aarav got a few criminals’ friendships in prison? I think they are also involved in this”

“How do you say?”

“I suspect they are helping Aarav. They would not do it for free. They are sharing the girls…”

“There is a chance…”

“It is… I don’t know what they will get from a girl who is

in pain” Arnav said painfully.

“You and I are human, ASR. Those who are involved in this case are not. They would think of only their pleasure

nothing more than that”

“The punishment should be hard for those who are involved in such activities”

“What would be your punishment?”

“Removing their clothes, I will let a few mice bite their manhood”

Aman gulped hard, widening his eyes.

“They should not get an easy death. They should know

what’s pain and should scream could not tolerate it” Arnav said gritting his teeth furiously.

Taking a step towards Arnav, Aman caressed his chest.

“Calm down, ASR. It makes me scared…” he said.

Arnav shrugged his hand off.

“Let’s go…”

As Arnav said, Aman published his photo with Aarav’s name. He stopped meeting Khushi. They only spoke on the phone. It happened every night, before going to bed.

On the other side, Arnav started the investigation with Aman and collected the murdered girl’s details. They matched with the missing girls. So, they confirmed that the same killer who burnt Swasti would kill other girls too. The case was almost completed. The only thing that remained was, catching the killer.

Arnav was confused about whether Aarav was in Delhi or not because he was not a man who would sit silently as he had no fear. He never feared anything. He would not think about the consequences. Then why didn’t he react?

After a week,

Khushi was in a supermarket buying the things Garima wanted. She stopped seeing a familiar face on the glass wall. She looked behind and saw Arnav. Forgetting herself, she rushed to him.

“Hi…”

He looked at her frowning. Khushi was stuck because he was not Arnav but Aarav.

To be continued…

Part 13 Handling the killer

Khushi was stuck seeing Aarav. She was so excited as she thought he was Arnav. Though Aarav was in a different GET-UP with a French beard, messy hair, and specs, it was not hard for Khushi to identify him. After all, he was a twin of Arnav… the man she admired day and night in her heart. Though Aarav resembled Arnav, she felt loath seeing him. She didn’t like him not just because he was a killer, she just didn't like him because he had cruelty in his eyes. How different these brothers were…! The same face, same eyes, same features, yet, something was missing in Aarav that Arnav had in him... KINDNESS…! Anyone would melt seeing Arnav’s smiling face but the one before her was completely different from him.

She observed her surroundings. Damn, what this Arnav and Aman were doing? Couldn't they come to the shopping center coincidently? The serial killer was in front of her but she could do nothing. She didn’t know how many of them were with him. He might have had a gun with him. After all, he had many criminal friends. What would happen if she shouted? But, what if he came up with preparations? However, she had to handle him. She had no choice.

Khushi saw Aarav looking at her questioningly. She made up herself to handle him. Aarav frowned, seeing her facial expression changing.

“How dare you…! Don’t you dare address yourself a human” She said shrinking her eyes.

Aarav looked at her with confusion because he didn’t know who the girl was.

“Don’t you have shame? Is this what a brave man does? I have never seen a cruel-hearted man like you”

Aarav was shocked. Who the hell was she? Why she was scolding him? Did she know about him? Did she find out he was the serial killer?

“Why are you looking at me like an OWL? You and your face…!” she gritted her teeth.

Aarav felt insulted. He was so proud of his LOOK. After all, he trapped girls by using his LOOK but, this girl humiliated him. he was supposed to say something but stopped as the public started paying attention to them.

“What happened, madam?” the supermarket owner rushed to them.

“Please, you don’t interfere in this matter, sir. This is a matter between me and this monkey” Khushi said wearily.

Aarav dropped his jaw and frowned. He had seen many girls who died for his one look but this girl was giving him names that were so insulting.

“Say something… What do you have in your mouth? Did your pearls spill if you said something?”

Aarav didn’t know what she wanted him to say. In fact, he didn’t know what her problem was.

“Madam, this is a public place… please don’t create a scene here. Please solve your problem in person” The owner requested.

“Sir… I don’t even want to see his face. I hate him to that extent. My bad luck, today I had to see his face” she said annoyingly.

“Madam, please…”

Cutting him,

“Sir, you have no idea what he had done…” She said observing his face.

Aarav was horrified. He had no idea what she was talking about.

“Whenever I think about it, I feel like I just want to tear him into pieces…”

“What did he do madam?”

“Please don’t ask me about it… I don’t even want to think about it”

The shop owner rolled his eyes.

“Sir, you tell me, what’s the problem?” the owner asked Aarav.

“I don’t even know who she is,” He said looking at Khushi.

“Whaaaat? You are a lair… you are a cheater… you won’t mind killing people who trust you”

Aarav gritted his teeth.

“What do you think of yourself? Who the hell are you? Do you know who I am?”

Khushi looked at him, moving closely, tilting her face from left to right, making him flinch.

“Are you mad?” He asked irritatingly.

She gulped down and moved back.

“I’m sorry, you are not HIM”

Aarav looked at her raising his brows.

“HIM?”

“I thought you were someone but you are not him. I’m really really sorry… but whatever I scolded you was him”

“Whom you are talking about?” He raised his left brow.

“Leave it, sir… you don’t know him…” she said casually.

“Who is he? Is he here?” he asked rigidly.

“No… That idiot is in Scotland.” She said annoyingly.

“Scotland?” Aarav understood whom she was talking about.

“I thought you were him because you resemble him” she walked.

“What’s his name?” he followed her.

Khushi stopped and turned towards him and said,

“Arnav Singh Raizada…” Khushi said looking at his eyes where she found a blaze, hearing Arnav’s name.

“What did he do? Why are you scolding him? Did he betray you?”

“I’m sorry, sir. I can’t share it with a stranger but I’m not going to leave him…” She gritted her teeth.

“If I resemble him, how do you say I’m not him?”

“I can say that… you may resemble him but you are not him”

“How?”

“Because I know him” she walked.

“Hey, miss…” Aarav followed her.

Khushi continued walking not giving heed to him. They came out of the shopping center. Aarav was supposed to clutch her hand, but he stopped seeing a police jeep stopping in front of the mall.

At the same time, Khushi’s face bloomed seeing the police. She turned behind and was horrified not to find Aarav there. Where did he go? She looked here and there. She saw him turning a street.  She slammed her feet on the floor with irritation. Starting the bike, she moved away.

Coming to her house, she called Arnav. He answered the call.

“Hi…”

“I want to meet you”

“Khushi, I’m busy with Aman…”

“Oh, really? I too was busy with the serial killer… Aarav”

“Whaaaat?” Arnav stood up on his feet.

“I met him in a supermarket”

“When?”

“Half an hour ago”

“Which supermarket?”

“Glad Supermarket Sarojini nagar”

“Why didn’t you call the police?”

“How could I call them when I was engaged with him?”

“Engaged?”

“Yes, I was talking to him”

“Khushi stop beating around the bush and tell me clearly”

“He was in the supermarket. I thought it was you… but he was Aarav”

“How do you know?”

“Don’t I know? After all, I’m Khushi”

Arnav rolled his eyes.

“Khushi, how do you know he was Aarav, not me?”

“Guess?”

“My mind is not working…”

Khushi sighed and was about say how she found he was Aarav, but stopped hearing,

“Oh, yeah, I got it… the scar on my left brow” Arnav’s hand automatically touched the scar.

“Oh, yeah… that’s also there but I forgot it…”

“Didn’t you find the difference using the scar?”

“No”

“Then?”

“Eyes… there is no LOVE in his eyes for me.”

Arnav smiled.

“If you were there in his place, your eyes would have smiled seeing me but I saw confusion in his eyes.”

“What did you talk to him?”

Khushi narrated to him about her conversation with Aarav. Arnav laughed like hell.

“Khushi, it seems you scolded him intentionally?”

“Then what? Because of that donkey, we are not meeting. That is why I scolded him keeping all my anger in my words. It was a public place. That’s why I behaved decently. Or else, I would have torn him…”

“Did you notice the dangerous part of your meeting?”

“What?”

“You became familiar to him. He got to know that you are related to me somehow”

“That’s why I intentionally did that”

“Whaaat do you mean?”

“Let him search for me. then only he will come out and get caught”

“He is a dangerous guy Khushi”

“Don’t I know that? I know his complete history more than anyone. I know what I’m doing”

“Be careful, Khushi”

“Don’t worry. He can’t find me even if I go in front of him”

“How? Are you going to wear a disguise?”

“Kind of…”

“You are next to impossible”

“Thanks”

“Welcome”

“Really? When you are welcoming me, how won’t I come to your place? I will come to meet you…”

Arnav sighed.

“Ok… but be careful”

“Yes, Boss”

She disconnected the call.

After a while,

Arnav heard a calling bell sound and opened the door. he frowned seeing a Muslim girl standing.

“Yes… what can I do for you?” Arnav asked.

“Assalam walekum,” the girl said and Arnav stuck for a second and laughed because she was Khushi.

To be continued…

 Part 14 Arnav’s fear

“Assalam walekum,” the girl said and Arnav stuck for a second and laughed because she was Khushi.

“Khushiiii…” he pulled her inside and closed the door.

Khushi removed the Burqa smilingly.

“What’s this?”

“Didn’t I say I will not be identified easily?”

“Nice idea”

“Where is Aman?”

“He went to the Sarojini Nagar Market area”

“To catch Aarav?”

Arnav nodded yes.

“Do you think he would be there?”

“No… yet, we can’t be careless. We should not leave any single chance”

Khushi sat on the couch sighing.

“He is roaming casually, hiding behind a French beard you guys are searching for him somewhere else”

“We are going to out Aarav’s drawing with different forms”

“That’s a good idea” Khushi appreciated.

“Mmm”

“What will you do if he comes in front of you?”

“I will kill him without any second thought,” Arnav said without any second thought.

Khushi was stunned.

“Are you sure?”

“Are not you?”

“Won’t you like to talk to your brother who you are meeting after a long?”

“I wish I would never meet him. if I meet him, I won’t give him a chance… he will use it in his favor”

“It seems you are equally angry with him…”

“More than ever before…”

“It's because he became a criminal?”

“He didn’t just do crime… he killed innocent girls brutally, after torturing them heartlessly. How could I leave him?”

Khushi nodded yes.

“I can’t understand one thing”

“What?” Arnav raised his brows.

“The girls killed by him belonged to orthodox families. They were raised conservatively. Then how did they fall for Aarav?”

“I too don’t understand that. I and Aman met the friends of the murdered girls. They are not ready to open their mouths”

“They should have been scared”

“Undoubtedly”

“What are you going to do to catch him?”

Arnav nodded no.

“By the way, how do you know Aarav is angry with me?”

“I saw his eyes shined when I scolded you”

“He will be confused thinking about who you are to me”

“Let him be confused”

“He will try to find you”

“Let him find me”

Arnav widened his eyes.

“Have you gone mad? He is a Psychopath. He won’t think about anyone and anything.”

“Why are you talking as if I’m unaware of it?”

“What’s the use of being aware of it if you don’t understand the seriousness, Khushi?”

“He can do nothing”

Taking a step, he clutched her shoulder and lifted from the sofa.

“Khushi, please stop talking like this. He killed eight girls. We got only one dead body. Others became ashes. The post-mortem report made me shiver, Khushi. I can’t even imagine how the girls would have struggled with him before dying. Don’t be careless in Aarav’s matter. you don’t know him”

Khushi was surprised to see fear in his eyes.

“I thought you would face him bravely,” she said.

“I (stressing) will face him bravely but I don’t have the guts to think of YOU meeting him again”

“Ok… I will not be careless and will not do anything stupid”

Arnav sighed. In no time, Khushi embraced him, making him stuck.

“I’m sorry for making you tense. I’m sorry if I spoke senselessly”

Arnav pulled her from the hug.

“Khushi, he is a beast… he is not alone. He has some criminal friends who are helping him to be hidden. They are helping him only to share the girls he trapping. Just think, how cruel they would be if they were only helping him to get girls. Just think about their need…! You are a criminology student. We know criminal’s minds better than others. Act accordingly…”

Khushi nodded yes. This time, Arnav embraced her.

“I was longing to hug you but you hugged me, I’m not in the condition to embrace the moment” he regretted.

Khushi leaned on his chest smilingly.

“Arnav…”

“Mmm?”

“Shall we talk something apart from murder, criminal, post-mortem?”

“I’m sorry, our situation led us to…”

“That’s ok”

“What did your Dad say?”

“He wants to meet your Nani”

“I would like to meet her before taking your father there”

“Shall I accompany you?”

“Will you?”

“Of course, I want you to meet her”

“Shall we go tomorrow?”

“Yeah…”

“Morning 7 o’clock”

“Done”

“Don’t forget to wear this Burqa”

Khushi nodded pressing her lips.

“What about you?”

“I will also wear a fake beard”

Khushi sighed.

That was when they heard a knock on the door. They looked at each other. Arnav opened the door and found Aman standing. He hurried inside and got stuck to see Khushi.

“Khushi, when did you come?”

“Just ten minutes ago”

Aman looked at Arnav and said,

“ASR, I got a call today”

“Whose call?”

“A girl”

“Girl…?”

“She said she wanted to talk to me about her friend Swasti”

“The one who we found half burnt?”

“Yes…”

“What did she say?”

“She said she would call me in half an hour and asked me to make myself free”

“When did she call you?”

“Half an hour ago”

Arnav looked at his watch.

“She will call me again I suppose. That’s why I came home”

They sat on the couch and waited. After ten minutes, Aman’s phone rang. Aman looked at the number and nodded his head, looking at Arnav. Arnav swiped the green symbol and turned the speaker on. He gestured for Aman to talk.

“Hello, who is this?”

“I’m Swasti’s friend”

“Hi, tell me what you want to talk to me”

“Sir, I want to tell you about the killer who killed my friend”

“Do you know him?”

“Yes, sir… I know him. I had seen him only once. Through the MIRROR when he gestured Sawsti in the supermarket.”

“Mirror?”

“Yes, sir. he was so cautious not to reveal his identity. He never met Swasti when she was with her friends. He always met her in a lonely place. I unexpectedly met Swasti that day in the supermarket. He hid seeing me there suddenly. That was when I saw him in the Mirror”

Arnav wrote a question and passed the paper to Aman.

“Swasti’s family looked conservative. Then how did she fall for him?”

“He looked so charming, sir”

“Means?”

“He followed Swasti but didn’t approach her”

“But you said Swasti’s friends never met him? if he followed her, how did they miss noticing him?”

“He followed her only when she left her house with no plan. He never followed her to college. I think he was always waiting for her near her hosue”

Arnav and Aman spared a glance.

“Swasti spoke about him non-stop…”

“What did she speak?”

“About his LOOK”

“Look?”

“Yes, sir… he dressed well. Sawsti said he looked like a hero. Before her death, Swasti looked tensed”

“Why?”

“He wanted to go out with him but Swasti didn’t agree to it as her parent were so strict. He stopped talking to her being upset with her. She was worried as she thought he would break up”

Arnav rolled his eyes.

“That’s why she went on an outing with him”

“Why did he take her to Delhi?”

“Swasti thought her parent would get to know about her outing plan. That’s why she preferred Delhi but she never would have expected he would kill her, sir. do you know how many dreams she had in her heart about her future with him?”

“He is a Psychopath. We can’t expect mercy in him. Girls like you should be careful. You should not trust anyone”

“She fell for him because he looked dashing, sir…Even I was jealous when I saw him” she said in a low tone.

Aman sighed as he didn’t know what to say.

“Sir, please find him before he kills another girl, sir”

“We will do it. Thanks for your help.”

“Sir, please don’t tell anyone about me”

“Don’t worry. Our conversation will be confidential”

“Thank you, sir… please don’t call me again”

“Ok”

“Thank you, sir”

The call got disconnected.

“I don’t know what to say. Are girls so stupid to fall for outlook?”

“Outer attraction plays a main role in love these days, Aman” Khushi said.

“Just because she didn’t want to break up with him, Swasti went with him… poor girl, how happily she would have gone with him…!” Arnav felt bad for Swasti.

“We should alert girls. Ask them to be careful and concentrate on only studies. What say?” Khushi said.

“I don’t think it will work. Girls are blind in love.” Aman said.

They saw Arnav silent.

“What are you thinking, ASR?”

“I think he is thinking about Aarav. What if he was behind another girl… right?” Khushi said.

“But, we published his photo…” Aman said.

“What if he goes somewhere else where his photo could not reach?” Khushi questioned.

“You mean, northeast India?”

Khushi shrugged her shoulders.

“We tightened the Delhi border. He can’t go anywhere. He will be caught soon…” Arnav said and looked at Aman,

“Why shouldn’t we appeal for a shooting order?” Arnav asked.

Aman and Khushi looked at him dumbfounded.

To be continued…

 Part 15 Cautiousness

“Why should not we appeal for a shooting order?” Arnav asked.

Khushi and Aman were dumbfounded.

“Shooting order?” Aman asked.

“Why? Didn’t you expect me to ask you to appeal for it?”

“I thought you would have a little soft corner for him,” Aman said without hesitating.

“Soft Corner? He is a serial killer more than my brother.

Will you show mercy to the poisonous snack that’s about to bite your loved one?”

“I understand that…”

“No Aman, Aarav is more dangerous than I thought. His character is getting worse.”

“Can’t we treat him?”

“Do you think he was not subjected to the treatment? He was under treatment for more than a year. Yet, there was no use because he didn’t cooperate. He didn’t want to… that was why he escaped prison. We could have cured him if we had found his deficiency earlier but now, it’s too late. He became a monster. The girls killed by him are the proof. If we want no more girl to die, he should die. we have no choice.”

“I thought you would try to use his deficiency in his favour because he is a somewhat mentally disordered patient. So, he can’t be punished. The law will favour him”

“That’s why I want to get a shooting order before the department learns about his deficiency. He should not get a chance. He will use it to escape and continue spoiling girl’s life…”

“Are you scared, ASR?”

“Yes, I’m scared… because he had seen Khushi. She would be occupying his mind now. He would be thinking about only her. He would try to connect dots because Khushi seeded doubt in his mind”

“Me? in what means?” Khushi questioned.

“What do you think? Do you think you confused him?”

Khushi nodded yes slightly.

“No, you have given him a hint… solid hint”

“What’s that?”

“You said, you thought he was someone whom you knew and he was in Scotland”

Khushi nodded yes.

“That means, the someone is ME… if he resembled me, that means, you identified him. We published my photo to find him. What does that mean?”

Khushi and Aman were horrified as they understood the complication.

“You identified the KILLER. So, leaving you is a risk for him”

Khushi nodded yes thoughtfully.

“And, more than that, the police rounded up the Sarojini Market area. So, it would not have given him good vibes. You would have come into his mind first because you daringly told him that he looked like me”

Khushi sighed. Aman looked at her nervously and said,

“Be careful, Khushi”

Khushi nodded.

“Words are not enough to protect her…” Said Arnav.

“What’s the plan?” Aman asked directly.

Arnav walked to his room. Aman and Khushi spared a glance. Within a few minutes, Arnav came out. He gave some things to Khushi. She frowned to see the things he gave her. Pens, pendants, and bangle and bands…!

Khushi looked at him questioningly. Without minding about her look, he wore the bangle in her hand.

“Remove your chain”

Khushi removed her chain. Arnav added the pendant to her chain and gave it to her.

“Now, you can wear it”

Khushi wore it around her neck.

“Keep the pen in your pocket”

“Mind you tell me what’s all this for?” Khushi asked.

Taking his mobile, Arnav did something in that. He turned the phone screen towards them. They raised their brows amazed as they saw Arnav was showing them the phone on the screen, lively.

“How it is possible?”

“It’s not a pendant but a camera,” Arnav said.

“Is it?” Khushi’s hand automatically touched the pendant.

“Don’t remove it. We will follow you wherever you go”

Khushi raised her hand and looked at the bangle.

“What about this?”

“It’s a tracking device… We will be connected through these devices. We will watch the other two” Arnav gave a pendant, pen, and band to Aman also.

“ASR, why me? is not it enough if you are connected with Khushi?”

“We should be wise, Aman. He may attack one of us too… That’s why we should be prepared”

“What about the pen?” Khushi asked.

Arnav took it from her and pointed at a flower vase. The next second the flower vase was broken into pieces. Khushi and Aman looked at the pen thunderstruck.

“This is a gun… we can finish anyone without making noise,” Arnav said without any expression on his face.

Aman and Khushi looked at him horrified.

“Gun?”

Arnav nodded yes simply. Khushi looked at the pen gulping down.

“You can fire twelve times…” Arnav added.

“But, ASR, I have a gun… I’m an inspector…”

“If you get caught, they will snatch your phone and gun immediately but they won’t mind the pen. So you can play with it”

Aman nodded yes.

“I saw these kinds of things only in James Bond movies…” Khushi said.

“Yeah, I too never thought I would see such things in real” Aman huffed.

Arnav was silent.

“By the way, ASR, you are a criminology professor. How do you get such things?”

“I brought them to show you,” Arnav said coolly.

Aman pressed his lips.

“I know you guys would not have seen them. I know you would be excited if you saw them. That’s why I brought them”

“But you didn’t show them to us…?”

“I wanted to do it on the alumni function itself but I was in some other tension,” he said, smiling at Khushi.

“After that, the serial killer tension” he sighed.

“Tension and you?” Aman asked.

“Am I not?”

Aman rolled his eyes.

“Why?”

“I have not seen something called tension in your face,” Aman said.

“Just because I don’t show it, it doesn’t mean I’m not tensed”

“If you are tensed, the problem must be more severe than I thought…” Aman said.

“Undoubtedly… don’t be careless. You should not leave home without the devices…”

Aman and Khushi nodded ok.

“I and Khushi are going to meet Nani tomorrow,” Arnav said.

“Is it?”

Khushi nodded yes.

“Ok, enjoy…” Aman smiled.

…….

Aarav was sitting in a house located in a middle-class area of Delhi. It was one of his partners in crime at Rakesh’s house. When Rakesh was in jail, the area people thought he went to Saudi. He created such an image in that area, using his area friends. So that, he could freely roam around Delhi. That favoured Aarav.

Rakesh saw Aarav thinking something deep.

“What are you thinking, buddy?”

“I’m thinking about the girl I met in the supermarket”

“Girl? Who is she? Is she our next prey?”

Aarav nodded clear-cut.

“Then, who is she?”

“She said I resembled someone who she knows”

“So?”

“I too know that someone”

“Who is he?”

“My brother…”

“Do you have a brother?”

“Mmm”

“Does he look like you?”

“Ditto… he is my twin”

“Is it?”

“Yes…”

“That means, she found your real face”

Aarav nodded yes.

“That means, we are in danger?”

“Kind of… but I’m not sure”

“Why?”

“I think she didn’t know about the serial killer”

“How do you say?”

“There was no fear in her face. She scolded me thinking that I was my brother”

“Whaat? Did she scold you? For what?”

“I think they have a problem within them. She looked angry”

“Ok… but, how did she conclude you are not him?”

“That’s what I don’t know.”

“Didn’t you ask her?”

“I asked her but she didn’t answer. At the same time, the police jeep came there. So, I silently left the place before the cops saw me”

“Thank God…”

“I want to search for her”

“But why?”

“I want to know how she is related to my brother”

“What do you do knowing that? It will lead us into trouble. We should leave Delhi before the police smell us”

“We will get caught if we try to leave Delhi because the police would have tightened all the check posts and the tollbooths. So, we should be hidden for a few days”

“Thank God, I thought you would go searching for the girl”

“I will surely go but not right away,” Aarav said firmly.

To be continued…

 Part 16 Coincidently…

Aman was rolling a roti and Arnav was roasting them. Khushi was watching them smilingly, sitting on the kitchen stage. They dined her help.

“It feels good to see two criminology-based officers making rottis” She teased them.

“Hunger is common for all, madam. To fill our stomachs, we all need food… right?” Arnav said, rotating the rotti skilfully that was on the stove.

“I feel so relaxed now,” Khushi said.

“Why?” Both of them asked in the same tone and looked at her.

“Didn’t you say Arnav might have a family in Scotland? If he had a family, he would not learn cooking, I guess…”

“Don’t conclude Khushi… family men are so skillful than the bachelors” Aman said.

Arnav hit him with the spatula laughingly.

They ate dinner together chitchatting. That was when Aman got a call. He rolled his eyes as the call was from his station.

“Yeah, tell me”

“Sir, a call came from the commissioner's office. It seems the commissioner is going to visit our station”

“Mmmm… ok, I’m coming” Aman disconnected the call.

“What happened?”

“Commissioner’s visit”

“Now?”

“Yes…” Aman was about to get up, leaving the food, but Arnav clutched his hand and made him sit.

“Complete eating”

“No, ASR”

“We are working to get food only. The commissioner will not cut your head off if you go late. Complete it”

Aman ate fast and went to the police station.

Khushi cleaned the table with Arnav.

“We will go to Ashram early in the morning,” Arnav said.

“Mmm”

“Go home and sleep.”

Khushi looked at the watch.

“It’s just 7:30… I will reach home in half an hour…”

“Mmm”

“Do you want me to leave?”

“Yeah, my wife will call me from Scotland,” he said seriously.

Khushi took a remote and threw it at him. Arnav caught it and laughed. Khushi went to his room and opened his suitcase. Arnav who followed her frowned.

“What do you want?”

“Where is your passport?”

“My passport?” he removed a cover from his bag.

Khushi snatched it from him. She saw his passport on the cover. She kept it in her bag.

“What are you doing?”

“You should leave India only with me”

“Ok… but why do you need my passport?”

“You should not go leaving me”

“Oh…”

He took another cover from the bag and gave it to her.

“What’s this?”

“My green card”

Khushi lifted her brows and gave it a look.

“Keep it… I can do nothing without it in Scotland…” he smiled.

As he didn’t expect, she circled his waist pouting. Arnav was stuck.

“What happened?” he asked.

“Shall we go to Scotland soon?”

“We will… after the case finishes”

“Is it necessary for you to interfere in this case?”

“Isn’t it?”

Khushi sighed.

“I can walk away simply but I could not be peaceful if I do that, Khushi. Being a professor, I have taught my students to root out the criminals. How could I just leave Aman helplessly when he needs me?”

“After listening about Aarav and seeing your preparations to be alert, I feel nervous”

“Do one thing…”

“What?”

“You go to Scotland. I will arrange your visa. I will come there, finishing the case as soon as possible”

“How are you so confident after analyzing the case and the cruelty of Aarav?”

“Aarav may be smart but there are people smarter than him in the world”

“Is it you?”

“I don’t say that until I do that”

“Mmm…” She broke the hug and said,

“I’m leaving”

Arnav again circled her waist and nodded no.

“Don’t we go to Ashram tomorrow early in the morning?”

“Stay with me… we will go together”

Khushi widened her eyes.

“You can trust me. I will be a good boy” he said seriously.

“Then, why should I stay here?” she asked controlling her laughter.

“Then I can be a worse boy”

“Who really you are, good or bad?”

“If you ask me about me in common, I’m indeed a good boy but if you ask me about staying away from you, I don’t know because I’m not sure. I don’t know if I can be within my limit”

“Then, I should leave…”

“Why? Don’t you trust me?”

She pressed the scar on his left eyebrow.

“whaaat?’

“I’m checking if it’s true”

“Means?”

“What if you are Aarav in disguise?” she laughed teasing him.

Arnav rolled his eyes.

“Do you believe I’m Arnav?”

“Yes…”

“Know one thing… he won’t be talking like me…! he will get into action without wasting time”

She hugged him again.

“He is so scary”

“Mmm…”

“Catch him soon”

“I will try. You be careful. Keep the things given by me with you always”

“Mmm…”

“Ok, go home carefully. We will go to Ashram tomorrow”

“Don’t you want me to stay here?”

Arnav nodded no.

“Why?”

“You may think I’m Aarav”

“No…I won’t…! Don’t I know the difference?”

“I’m glad if you know that”

“Shall we get married tomorrow itself?” She asked.

Arnav looked at her wondering.

“My heart doesn’t want to go away from you”

“Very soon it will beat with mine”

“Mmm… I’m leaving” She said sadly.

“Ok…”

“Bye…” she detached from him.

Arnav nodded ok. Khushi removed his passport from her bag and gave it to him. Arnav took it from him smilingly. Khushi walked towards the door. Arnav followed her. Khushi was about to clutch the doorknob, but Arnav pulled her towards him. Khushi looked at him perplexed. Arnav leaned toward her lips and touched them with his. Khushi was shocked at first. She closed her eyes slowly and stood motionless. Neither Arnav went ahead nor did he apart from her lips. Even Khushi didn’t feel to get detached from him. Both were standing keeping their lips on another’s.

After a few seconds, Khushi parted her lips. So did Arnav. Both of them kissed one another at a time. They shared a passionate kiss and broke it afterward. They looked at each other without blinking. Arnav tucked her hair. Khushi held his hand and kissed his palm.  She looked at him emotionally.

“Wear the burqa” Arnav said.

Khushi nodded and wore it.

“Bye”

Arnav blinked his eyes. Khushi left Aman’s place. Arnav closed his eyes and sighed.

…….

On the other side,

Rakesh rushed inside the house.

“What happened?” Aarav asked.

“I saw the police in the Sarojini Market Area. they were inquiring about you”

“Is it?”

“Yes, it seems, the police are searching all the areas one by one”

Aarav became thoughtful.

“Think something dude. If we stay here, we will get caught” Rakesh said nervously.

“We will leave this place”

“That’s a good decision”

“We should hide in a place where police can’t smell us”

“Where will we search such a place?”

“No need to search… I already know such a place”

“What place?”

“My Nani’s Ashram” Aarav said.

“Ashram?” Rakesh shrank his eyes.

“Yes… only old people live there. They will do only poojas all the time. If we enter the Ashram, we will be safe for many days… maybe, for months”

“Is it?”

“Yes…”

“How do you know your Nani is there?”

“I find it out from our neighbour”

“Did you meet your neighbour?”

“No… I know their landline number. I just inquired not showing my identity and talked like my Nani’s relative. That was when they said my Nani is in an Ashram”

“If it is an Ashram, we will not get non-veg there. Right?”

Aarav nodded yes.

“How could we be without eating Non-veg? I will die, dude?”

“You will die in the police encounter if you stay here. Is it ok?” Aarav asked seriously.

Rakesh sighed.

“Will your Nani be helpful for us?”

“No way… she will never help me”

“Then, how can we go there?”

“We will have to find a way to go there”

“How will you do that?”

“I‘m going to meet my Nani”

“But why?”

“Then only we will get the idea to enter the Ashram”

“Do you think it will work?”

“We should make it work. We won’t get such a safe place to hide. At first, it will be a little harder but we will find loopholes and turn it in our favour”

“Ok then… we will go there”

“Call our friends and tell them about our idea. They should be ready anytime. We may need them”

“Ok…”

Aarav ALSO decided to go to Ashram to meet Nani the next day.

To be continued…

 Part 17 Nani with Arnav

Arnav was checking something on his mobile, waiting for Aman. He wanted to know the reason for the commissioner’s sudden visit.  He saw Aman entering using a spare key.

“Why did the commissioner visit suddenly?”

“To check whether we are doing work or sleeping,” Aman said irritatingly.

“What happened?”

“He didn’t come”

“Whaaat?”

“Yeah, he simply canceled the program” Aman gritted his teeth.

“This is why we should not sacrifice food. See, what happened” Arnav sighed.

“Leave it…” Aman sat on the couch.

“I will leave early in the morning with Khushi…”

“Yeah, you told me that you guys are going to meet your Nani”

“Make sure you are connected to us”

“Yeah… I will be. When will you be back?”

“Maybe, before lunch…”

“Do you have any plan to trap Aarav?”

“As we tightened the city limit, he would be in the city only. Or, maybe, outskirt Delhi. Form a secret team to watch stranger activities in the city. Ask for public help and let them inform us if they find anything weird in their area”

“I will do it tomorrow morning”

“Go to sleep. don’t know when you will be called”

“Yeah, you are right. You will also wake up earlier in the morning. Take my bike. The petrol is full”

“Thanks”

Arnav and Aman went to bed.

The next day

Arnav picked Khushi up who was wearing a burqa. Of course, Arnav was also in disguise with a beard and mustache. They headed to the Ashram.

“How long will it take for us to reach the Ashram?” Khushi asked.

“We will reach the Ashram in forty minutes as the roads are free. Why any problem?”

“No problem… I’m ready to travel around the world with you” She said dreamingly.

Arnav smiled.

“Whaaat?”

“Even though it’s filmy, it sounds nice” Arnav chuckled.

Khushi punched his back and Arnav laughed. They bought fruits for Nani on the way.

They reached the Ashram in forty minutes as Arnav said.

Arnav saw the Ashram was getting cleaned. A few workers were decorating it. People who belonged to the Ashram were in pure white clothes. It seemed it was their uniform.

“Is any function going to be held?” Khushi asked.

“Don’t know” Arnav shrugged his shoulders.

An old man saw them and asked,

“May I know who are you?”

“We are here to meet Mrs. Devyani”

“Devyani? Who are you to her?”

“I’m her grandson from Scotland. I would like to meet her”

“Oh, you are Arnav. right?”

“Do you know me?”

“Everyone from our Ashram knows not only about you but also about your twin brother Aarav”

Arnav and Khushi got stuck. They glanced at each other.

“Don’t take it wrong. We share everything. This is our family. we knew about everyone here”

Arnav nodded smiling.

“Shall I meet my Nani?”

“This is her Pooja time. She must be in the Pooja hall with others. You can wait. Or you can go to the hall”

Arnav looked at Khushi.

“We will go,” she said.

“It’s behind this building” the man guided them.

They came to the Pooja hall. There were ten members in the hall. They saw their Nani sitting with others and an old man was doing harthi. Khushi removed her slippers.

“You don’t have to come if you are uncomfortable,” she said.

“That’s ok” Arnav also removed his shoes and entered with Khushi.

The harthi was over. The old man asked Nani to distribute Prasad to all. She started giving it to others. Arnav waited until the Ashram people got the Prasad. Arnav extended his hand to take the dona bowl. Nani gave one to him, without looking at him.

“Being sincere is good… but this much sincerity is not good, Nani…” Arnav said.

Nani looked at him jerking.

“You didn’t even notice your grandson standing in front of you…”

“Chotte…” Nani was excited.

“When did you come to India?”

“Just two days ago…” he lied as she would feel bad for him delayed meeting her.

Nani closed the Prasad bowl and came to Arnav. She hugged him emotionally.

“How are you Chotte…? It’s been a long we met” She said choking.

“I’m fine Nani… I came to India to complete an important work”

“Oh…”

“Won’t you ask what work?”

“What work?”

“My wedding work”

Nani widened her eyes.

“Wedding?”

“Yeah, I decided to marry this girl” he pointed at Khushi.

Nani looked at Khushi perplexed.

“Namaste, Naniji” Khushi forwarded the fruits she brought for Nani.

“Do you belong to Scotland?” Nani asked as she thought Arnav met her in Scotland and fell for her.

“No, Nani, she studied in my college. Khushi Gupta”

“Your college?”

“Yes, her parents want to meet you to talk about our wedding but before that, I would like to meet you alone. That’s why I came…”

“But, you are not alone…” Nani looked at Khushi.

“I mean, without her parents…” Arnav smiled.

“Nice to hear…! I’m glad you gave a thought to your marriage. You are the only one who is there for me…”

Arnav clutched her hand softly and said,

“HE is also here…”

Nani looked at him perplexed.

“Whom you are talking about Chotte?”

Arnav looked at her sharply, hinting something. Nani pulled her hands off and moved back. There was a horrific expression on her face.

“But, he was dead…” her voice was low.

Arnav nodded his head from left to right.

“Didn’t he die?”

“No… he framed his death to tackle the police”

Nani sat on the bench, clutching her chest. Arnav sat next to her.

“Nani relax…”

Nani looked at him like, how could I be?

“He framed his death means, he would have had some plan. The police could not even catch him when the police had his complete record. Then what will the police do now, Chotte? According to them, he is dead!”

“No, Nani, I hinted to the police about him. That’s why I’m in disguise because I don’t want police to get confused seeing me”

“Be careful Chotte… he may attack you too, he is mad ”

“I will take care of myself, Nani. You don't have to bother about me. I will be in India for twenty-five days. Before leaving India, I would like to marry Khushi. Her parents will come to meet you in two or three days”

Nani nodded ok.

“After our wedding, only we can start the visa process for Khushi. So, I want to hurry up”

“Then, we will do it as soon as possible. Then only you can take her with you…”

Arnav nodded yes.

“Will you go with him, bitiya?”

“Jee Naniji” Khushi smiled.

“She has to come with me…” Arnav said firmly.

Nani and Khushi smiled.

“Ok, have breakfast with me”

“Sure, Nani. It seems your Ashram is getting ready for an event…”

“Yes, Chotte, a saint will visit our Ashram tomorrow. That’s why we are cleaning it”

“Who is the Saint?”

“You don’t know him. He is not familiar. We too don’t know him. No one from our Ashram has seen him. He is not a modern saint. He didn’t even have a mobile phone. We received his letter last month about his visit. We appreciated it. After that, we got another letter with his confirmation. That’s all. He is a REAL saint.”

“Interesting...! How many days will he be here?”

“I three to four days…”

Arnav looked at Khushi and asked,

“Then how will Khushi’s parents meet you, Nani?”

Nani became thoughtful.

“Ok, we will do one thing”

“Tell me”

“I will come with you and meet them today. Then will return to the Ashram in the evening. What say?”

“Hope you have no problem…”

“No… I don’t want your wedding process to delay”

“Ok, Nani… let’s go”

“Arrey, have breakfast. Then we will go”

“Ok…”

Nani came to the old man who guided Arnav to the Pooja hall. She told him about going with Arnav. He permitted her to go with him. Then Nani took them to the dining hall.

At the same time, Aarav reached the Ashram with Rakesh. He waited at the bus stand which was opposite the Ashram and observed. He frowned seeing it getting cleaned. He went to the small shop and asked,

“Why are they cleaning the Ashram?”

“It seems a Saint is coming from Kedarnath tomorrow,” the shopkeeper said.

“Saint? Who is he?”

“I don’t know… I never heard his name”

“What’s his name?”

“Santhoshananda”

“Santhoshananda?” Aarav frowned.

“Who is that, Dude? I have not heard the name!” Rakesh said.

“I too didn’t hear it”

“How many of them are coming?”

“I don’t know,” the shopkeeper said.

“Which time they will come?”

“I don’t know”

“How did they come, by train or, bus?”

“By walk”

“Whaaaat?”

“Yes, he is a REAL saint who won’t use something that makes man lazy”

Aarav raised his brows.

“Tomorrow which time, will he reach here?”

“Isaid, I don’t know”

“How many days will he stay here?”

“I don’t know”

“Don’t you know anything?” Rakesh asked irritatingly.

“Why would I know?”

They saw a man coming from the Ashram.

“Go and ask him about the Saint. He knows everything about him” The shopkeeper said.

Aarav gestured for Rakesh. They followed the man. At the same time, the cab arrived at the Ashram. Leaving the bike in the Ashram, Arnav and Khushi took Nani with them in the cab.  Arnav decided to take his bike from the Ashram when he would come to drop Nani back.

To be continued…

 Part 18 Plan

At the same time, Arnav took Nani from the Ashram, and Aarav followed the man who came out of the Ashram. They saw him having a bag in his hand. He headed to the nearby shop. They silently followed him and stood a little away, observing him.

“Suklaji, I need these items” he handed a chit in which all the needed items were listed.

“Hello, Balramji, it seems the preparations are going in full swing to welcome the saint…” The shop owner asked.

“Yes, Suklaji. They are coming tomorrow… that’s why we are getting ready to welcome him”

“That’s nice. When is he coming?”

“He is coming on his foot…”

Cutting him,

“Whaaat? Is he coming on his foot from Kedarnath?”

“Yes… he is so strict. He lives a real and strict ascetic life. He won’t compromise with his habits. It seems”

“Oh…” The shop owner was surprised.

“That’s why we can’t say when he will reach the Ashram.”

“What’s the big deal? We can reach Delhi from Kedarnath in four days”

“It’s for a common people like us… we will walk in a single stretch. He will not do that. He will cover all the Temples on the way…”

“Oh… was he touching Haridwar too?”

“No… he is Lord Siva’s Devotee. So, he won’t go to Haridwar. He comes through the Meerut highways”

“Is he coming alone?”

“No… he is coming with his disciples”

“Does he have many disciples?”

“Don’t know but I’m sure he would not have many disciples because it’s very tough to be with a strict Guru like him”

“Yeah, you are right”

Sukla handed him the things he wanted.

“Thank you, Suklaji” he paid money and left.

Aarav and Rakesh also left the place.

“What are you thinking?”

“We are going to enter the Ashram in the disguise of the saint”

“How?”

“We will have to meet the saint”

“Why?”

“To join him”

“Will he accept us as his disciples?”

“If he doesn’t accept us, we will finish him and will replace him”

“What if it leads us into trouble?”

“We are already in trouble. There is nothing new but if we miss this chance, we can never get a good chance again to be in the safer zone”

“How will we reach him? There are three routes to Delhi from Kedarnath…”

“He is coming from Kedarnath touching Meerut. So, he will come through the Meerut highways. We can easily reach him”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, if he had touched Haridwar, we could not have guessed his route because There are two routes to Delhi from Haridwar”

“Thank God…” Rakesh said.

“Thank Kedarnath” Aarav smirked and Rakesh chuckled.

On the other side,

Khushi called Shashi. He attended the call.

“Haan Khushi”

“Babuji, Arnav’s Nani is coming to our home”

“Arnav’s Nani? But we are supposed to meet her, right?”

“Yes, Babuji but there is a preparation going on in her Ashram. A saint from Kedarnath is coming to her Ashram. So, her Ashram will be busy for the next few days and she will not get time to meet us. That’s why Arnav is bringing her to our home”

“Oh… ok. I’m coming home” Shashi disconnected the call.

“Babuji started to home,” Khushi said after disconnecting the call.

Shashi called Garima and told her about Nani’s arrival. Garima became panicked as she had to prepare lunch for her. She didn’t know what she would eat. She called Khushi and she attended it.

“Haan Amma…?”

“Khushi, what Arnav’s Nani will eat?”

“Vegetarian food”

“Any restrictions, or, allergies?”

Khushi looked at Nani and asked,

“Naniji, are you allergic to anything?”

“No beta… I will eat everything but a minimal amount”

“Amma, she eats everything but a tiny amount”

“Spices, salt, oil?”

“Lessen all of them, amma”

“Will Arnav eat without spice?”

“Amma, he is a Scottish…! He doesn’t need spicy food” Khushi said smilingly.

Arnav who was in the front seat, turned his face and looked at her smilingly.

“Ok…” Garima was relieved.

Shashi reached home before them. He welcomed Nani, joining his hands respectfully.

“Namaste, Maji”

“Namaste ji”

“She is my wife Garima”

“Namaste maji” Garima greeted her.

“Please take your seat,” Shashi said.

Nani sat with Arnav, whereas Khushi stood with Garima.

“Arnav said you wanted to me. As our Ashram became busy suddenly, I don’t think they will allow me to meet you”

“That’s ok, maji. We wanted to come to your Ashram out of respect. We didn’t want to trouble you”

“There is nothing called trouble and when it’s about our Chotte’s wedding, I won’t mind getting troubled” Nani smiled.

“She calls Arnav Chotte,” Khushi said smilingly.

Arnav rolled his eyes.

“I’m glad you accepted Chotte as your son-in-law.”

“Why not, Maji? Who won’t accept such a great Groom who is an eligible bachelor…!” Shashi laughed.

Nani smiled at Arnav who spilled a crooked smile.

“When do you want us to fix the wedding, Naniji?”

Shashi asked.

“You can fix it anytime…”

“You said the Ashram authorities would not allow you to meet us. Then how will they allow you to leave the Ashram? Could you come to the wedding?”

“They won’t entertain any activities inside the Ashram. I can get permission to attend the wedding”

“How long the saint will stay in your Ashram?”

“We are clueless, Guptaji. They hadn’t passed any of their program planners to us. That’s the problem”

“Can’t you ask their plan by calling them?”

“He is not such a Saint who uses electronic gadgets and modern technologies. He is the same as Ancient Rishis”

“Oh… interesting…!” Shashi said.

“Won’t you allow the public to meet him?” Garima asked curiously.

“Yeah… the authorities will arrange his meeting with the public. I think Sath Sank will also be there”

“Will you tell us when will it happen?” Garima asked.

Khushi and Shashi rolled their eyes.

“Do you want to meet him?”

“Yes, Maji. I love Sath Sank. I will be happy if I get a chance to be a part of it” Garima said with excitement.

Shashi and Khushi looked at each other and gulped down. It’s because Garima would nag them to accompany her.

“Oh, sure. I will let you know. Arnav will bring you to our Ashram”

Arnav widened his eyes, hearing that. Khushi and Shashi controlled their laughter seeing his expression. He smiled at Shashi awkwardly.

“Garima, why are you scaring our going to be Damad? He will not think of coming to India then” Shashi laughed.

“No no… not like that uncle. I’m not used to going to Sath Sang and all…” Arnav said.

“But we used to go…” Khushi and Shashi said in the same tone.

Garima glared at them.

“Ok, Maji, shall we arrange their wedding next week?” Shashi changed the topic.

“Yeah, you can… I will come, however”

“Ok, then… we will start inviting our relatives,” Garima said.

“Yeah, that’s the main and toughest part of the wedding. Hai Na Maji?” Shashi asked.

Nani nodded yes.

“But we have no one to invite,” Nani said.

“Yeah, Arnav is your only grandson after all…”

“No, I have one more grandson,” Said Nani, making Shashi and Garima.

Arnav understood Nani didn’t want to hide the truth about Aarav because it might be revealed anytime and Guptas would think odd about it.

“Another grandson?”

“Yes, he is Arnav’s twin”

“Where is he?”

“We don’t know… the police are searching for him”

“But why?” Shashi asked with confusion.

“Because he killed many girls”

Shashi and Garima looked at each other shockingly.

“I really ashamed to address him as my grandson. Yet,

I’m telling you about him because I don’t want you to think we hide the truth about him. After all, the police will catch him on some days. You will get to know the truth then. I don’t want you to think about us differently. That’s why I’m saying.”

“But, Arnav didn’t tell us about him”

“When he came to our house, he didn’t know he was alive” Khushi said,

“What do you mean?”

“We thought he died because the police found a burnt dead body with Aarav’s identity. So, they declared his death.” Nani said.

“After coming to India only I learned that he is still alive…” Arnav said.

“How do you know?”

“I saw him in a shopping mall” Khushi answered.

All of them looked at her.

“I thought he was Arnav but nope. I understood that seeing him”

“But how?” Nani asked.

“He frowned seeing me, like, who are you? That one look told me he was not Arnav”

“Do you know about him before itself?” Shashi asked.

“Arnav already told me about him,” Khushi said.

“Is he the serial killer?” Shashi asked.

Arnav nodded yes.
